Major League Sports

Erickson Partners has extensive experience in sports franchise consulting. Don Erickson previously served as the national head of sports valuation for Ernst & Young until he retired in 2003. Over the years he has been responsible for numerous sports intangible assets appraisals including lease agreements, season ticket holder list, management contracts, customer lists, software, patents, trademarks, and player contracts.

Mr. Erickson has been involved with over 50 sports valuation engagements over the years. Consulting engagements have included valuation of franchises, financial analysis of sports teams, and economic and marketability analysis for sports facilities. He has spoken on sports-related issues to the International Conference on Sports Business at the University of South Carolina and to the Major League Baseball International Partners Group in New York City.

Energy

Erickson Partners' experience includes the valuation of companies for transactional analysis, allocation of purchase price, and estate and income tax, and litigation support purposes. We have developed specialized expertise in the energy industry and have performed valuations in the oil and gas exploration, hydrocarbon refining, oil and gas service, power marketing and trading, and oil and gas transportation, pipeline and storage industries.

Don Erickson has also served on the Board of Directors of Magnum Hunter Resources, a NYSE company, until it was acquired in 2005. Magnum Hunter was an exploration and production company with reserves in the Southwestern United States and the Gulf Coast. He served as the Chairman of the Audit committee.

In addition, Bryce Erickson has had several years experience underwriting debt and equity securities in the energy industry. During his time as an investment banker, he helped analyze and underwrite over $550 million in committed capital in multiple energy sectors including exploration and production, crude, refined products and natural gas pipelines, oil and gas services, refineries and natural gas distribution companies.

Real Estate Holding Companies

Erickson Partners has particular experience and training in valuing real estate holding companies, partnerships and joint ventures. Although we are not real estate appraisers, Don Erickson has training in real estate appraisal through courses and seminars. Don also had several MAI's including the national chair of the MAI's at Ernst & Young's real estate appraisal group report to him in the past. Our understanding of the underlying real estate assets, in conjunction with the corporate or partnership structures that hold the real estate allow us to see and measure value within even some of the most tiered and sophisticated structures in the marketplace.

Insurance

Erickson Partners has extensive experience in valuing insurance companies and insurance agencies throughout the United States. These valuations included enterprise valuations and intangible assets like portfolio of renewals, covenants not to compete, goodwill, etc. We have valued insurance companies as well as over 100 insurance agencies and have an in-depth understanding of the underwriting, portfolio and risk management issues unique to the insurance industry.
